Inclusion Specialists

Marleny Alvarado
The Inclusion Specialist for OPTIONS Child Care, Marleny Alvarado holds a B.A. in Child Development from California State University, Los Angeles. Prior to joining the SNAP team she worked with the Los Angeles Unified School District as a Special Education trainee, and as a Categorical Resource Assistant assisting in evaluating and referring students to special needs and related services in accordance with the Individualized Education Programs (IEP). She is currently pursing her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education.

Christine Meyer
The Inclusion Specialist for Child Care Information Service (CCIS) – Pasadena, Christine Meyer holds a B.A. in General Studies with an emphasis in Special Education from the University of Nevada Reno. After moving to Los Angeles she received her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapies from Phillips Graduate Institute. She worked as a preschool teacher for over 15 years before joining the SNAP team.

Elizabeth Favela
The Inclusion Specialist for the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), Elizabeth Favela holds a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Interaction and Group Relations. She previously worked with the Resource Specialist Program working directly with students and assisting parents with IEPs.

EVA HURTADO, MA
Behaviorist

Evangelina Hurtado is a recent graduate from California State University, Los Angeles. She has a Master's degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Behavior Case Intervention Management. Her training included classroom management, effective use of counseling skills; and behavioral assessments, implementation and interventions in school settings. Her previous professional experience includes presentation for parents, staff and vendors from Regional Centers in Southern California, as well as, behavioral consultation with level 4 residential homes. She has worked for Pathways (formerly Child and Family Services) for approximately 5 years in different areas, which include Resource and Referrals and CalWORKs subsidized payment programs. Her responsibilities involved staff training and development, program quality assurance and compliance, community outreach, etc. She is currently working with Pathways, as a Behaviorist with the Special Needs Advisory Project. She is currently collaborating in the development of a training manual and curriculum for child care providers to increase their capacity to be able to include children with special needs in their care.
